Microscope 163 (unknown maker; double pillar French microscope; c. 1900)

Microscope 163 was probably made in France by the late 19th or early 20th century. The instrument is unsigned, but a number of similar double pillar instruments appear in antique catalogues of American and French companies such as B. Kahn & Son, Emille Deyrolle and E. Vion (Figure 1).
